Does anyone know where I can get one? The ones that I've seen have been made of polyester or polyester mix, which I can't wear (suffer lots from static).
Many thanks.

would it be a success. I don`t want to ruin it.
Cotton is a great fabric for dying, as cotton is a natural fabric, you can get some good dyes that go in the washing machine so no dyed hands or bowls...Good luck with it..

Hi, my daughter is being baptized in a few weeks in an Orthodox ceremony which consists of the baby being lathered in olive oil from head to toe before putting on a beautiful heirloom quality white cotton gown, How can I prevent the dress from being stained, I will not be able to wash it till that night about 8 hours after the contact with the oil. What do you recommend I do to prevent staining? Baby powder? oxyboost? Iron with heat?
My first inclination is that if the oil is blessed or whatever, (such as holy water), it becomes more important than everyday cooking oil. Treating it as a common laundry stain is kind of inappropriate. Wouldn't you say it is part of the experience, and you should leave it there?
The other suggestion is that if you can use a little less oil and rub it in more instead of letting it sit on top of the skin, you will have less problem with it greasing up the baby's gown. If the oil-er is you, just make sure of this. If it's the priest, you can ask if it is possible to be careful about it.

As I write this, my kitten, Theodore, is sucking on the drawstring of my dressing gown [you know those plushy, fluffy ones you get from cotton on etc]. Yeah, he's about 6 months old too.
He does this with cashmere too, or anything soft really. He gets it in his teeth and sucks, prodding it as if it's his mum's belly.
my question - what's the best way to get him to stop? He's growing really fast, and he's the only cat I've had who does this. It doesn't really bother me, but he does it ALL the time. Any suggestions?
They do it for comfort, my kittens eventually stopped but the kitten i have now she still does it and shes 6 months too. She normally falls asleep half way through doing it
This lace was purchased in Belgium about the turn of the last century by my grandfather. My grandmother used the lace for this christening dress for my mother. Each member of the family (about 20) have all been christened in this gown. Now it is very dingy and has yellow stains on the bodice and on the cotton batiste bodice. I've soaked both pieces in hot lemon water and now need to wash it "in the usual way"! Because of the delicate nature, I'm not sure whether to use Dreft or if there is something else which may be safer. I really need help soon! This is for the greatgrandchild of my mother - the original person to be christened in it. Please hurry!
Hi,
Please do not wash your gown. My daughter did that to my chistening gown and ruined it. It just shredded it. My advice is to take it to a professional who restores fine lace, and satin items. This maybe a little expensive, but at least you will have a restored gown that you can continue to charish.
