What is the difference between rayon chenille and cotton chenille?

I am looking into buying some beautiful hand dyed yarn on ebay and am just wondering what the difference is. Is one softer than the other? If so, which one?


One is going to be made from rayon and one from cotton. I have never actually felt the rayon chenille (I have some cotton chenille), but I would imagine that the cotton would be softer. I love what I have, but I only have one ball of it so I have NO idea what I want to do with it. Rayon is very strong, but not very soft at all. Cotton is still strong, but has a softer hand. I hope this helps you.
