Cotton Candy Mix

I have a cotton candy maker, i could go to the store and buy the mix but i want to learn how to make it. Now if anybody might suggest not to use home made mix i could consider it with a good reason.

Just mix 1 cup of water, 5 cups of 100% sugar and 1 cup of corn syrup and put it in your cotton candy maker..

i have a cotton candy machine at home, but no mix left(that came with the cotton candy machine) bakers sugar works alright, but is no fun, its just white- i want pink, lavendar, blue- pretty colors. where can i buy the mix that the vendors at carnivals use? i treid a candy store in the mall, but they didtn understand what i was saying and kept trying to shove that awful premade cotton candy in a plastic bag at me- yuck!

I want to buy a bucket of cotton candy not cotton candy mix. And there is no fair around where i live at the moment. Which stores sells them?

I've seen them in bags at the checkstand for sure at K-Mart. Possibly Albertsons, too.

I'm aware that I can buy it online but I would rather pick it up at a store.

you don't need special sugar
you can use caster or superfine sugar. if you want it coloured, put some in a ziploc bag with a couple of drops of food colouring and shake it thoroughly until the colour is well blended.
