Cotton Candy Cart

I have started making and selling my own cotton candy. There are claims on web-sites about there being sugars of brown, red ,black etc......I have looked and submitted and gone through many sites, there are many flavors and colors........except red ,black, or brown.....can someone help me locate these colors of sugars/floss? (or how to safely make these colors, I have professional cotton candy cart,machine) thanks. maria

Flossine is the flavor/color, one tablespoon per 10 pounds of sugar.

If you have the three primary colors, you can mix them to get brown, roughly equal parts blue, red, and yellow. Opposite colors work, too, orange and blue, purple and yellow, green and red. Mix them two parts secondary to one part primary, adjust to fine tune the color. I wouldn't imagine that you'd be able to get much darker than a tan, though. With those color/flavor concentrates, you might.

I do not find black, and besides using an awful lot of purple color/flavor concentrate, I'm not sure how you'd make it, sorry.

I have seen food color sprays, I just got some orange, and I believe it came in black, as well, for halloween. Yes, here's a link:

I'm not sure that would work with already spun sugar, though, it might be too wet and might melt it. You could try it, though. Hope I've helped some. :)

I am considering buying a sno-cone and cotton candy machine,and use it downtown on street corners(if allowwed) as well as for races,fundraisers,and places of those sorts..What license do i need?i live in Indianapolis,Indiana.ThankYou

You might need a street vendors license. That way the local businesses won't complain that you are "stealing" customers from them. You can sell to anyone because you are licensed.
Register with the County Health Department. They probably won't require any licenses. They just want to know where they can find you. At some point they will conduct an inspection of the cleanliness of your machine..
