If yes, what is the best method? I have a bucket and a clothes line, but I only have access to a washing machine that is used by other tenants. I certainly don't want to risk messing up the washing machine.
I found this ebay guide on Window Treatments very interesting.

... And does it really matter if I paint with acrylics, and not oils? (It's a question I've wondered for years.....!!)
(Thanks for the answers so far) I should also add that I'm wondering about the durability of the fabric used... I hear people talking about longevity of the fabric. I'm hoping that acrylics are less likely to eat into the fabric over time, as oils do, if that's the case.
Canvas is a generic term for a heavy fabric.
Early canvas was made of linen, a sturdy brownish fabric of considerable strength. Linen is particularly suitable for the use of oil paint. In the early 20th century, cotton canvas, often referred to as "cotton duck", came into use. Linen is composed of higher quality material, and remains popular with many professional artists, especially those who work with oil paint. Cotton duck, which stretches more fully and has an even, mechanical weave, offers a more economical alternative. The advent of acrylic paint has greatly increased the popularity and use of cotton duck canvas. Linen and cotton derive from two entirely different plants, the flax plant and the cotton plant.
In the United Kingdom, "calico" refers to fabric made from unbleached, and often not fully processed, cotton, which may for example contain unseparated husk parts. The fabric is less coarse and thick than canvas or denim, but because of its unfinished and undyed state, it is still very cheap. As it is an inexpensive and readily available fabric, calico is often used by tailors in the construction of toile — mockups of a garment for the purpose of testing a pattern.
In the US the word calico is used quite differently. In American English, calico is a word for inexpensive printed cotton fabrics that have a colorful small, all-over pattern, which is often floral.
The fabric that is called calico in the UK is called muslin in the USA.
Oils and acrylics behave in very different ways and look different. To use either is a matter of personal choice, neither is "better".
Price: $18.75
It is grown in plant form, harvested and then woven into the fabric you use. As Calico is natural raw cotton, there may be small husk pieces found in the cotton that is produced from it, but no bleaching or dyeing involved in the process which also means that as a commodity it is very cheap to produce.
The name Calico is derived from the city of Calicut, in Kerala in India.
Rishton in the Hyndburn district of Lancashire, North west England was the first Place that calico was woven on an industrial scale in the UK
Hope some of this information is useful to you.
i think they are eggs they look white(not transparent, they are stuck against the filter about the size of a pea but about a 1/4 less and they, not poop because they are round and whie and not rocks because they do not float and are not white and they are hairy, they look like cotton help me please because i need to take the eggs out if they are quick or the goldfish willl eat them help! i will give best answers to the one who gives me a good answer and quickly(not yes or no)
if they are eggs they are no good, because they are white and hairy (this means that they were not fertile and they have fungused -hairy) no need to remove them unless you are just cleaning the tank anyway
are you sure that you have males and females? fertile eggs are clear or slightly gold colored and goldfish try to eat them as fast as they lay them that's why you need to have lots of plants and stuff in the tank to collect the eggs, then you move the plants to another tank for them to hatch
good luck

Simple Winter Sewing Project: Hot Rice Bags

Cloth bags of heated grain are great for warming the bed or soothing sore muscles–much cozier than hot water bottles, and a nicer quality of heat. I kept seeing them in boutique shops with shocking price tags, and whenever I asked what the bags were filled with, the shop proprietors would say it was a secret. But one day a few years ago I saw one that had a suspicious little pile of rice in its packaging, and as soon as I got home I whipped up a bag for myself using rice from the pantry, and added a fleece cover while I was about it (no wonder the filling was a secret–who would pay $30 for a...
