Can you iron on clarino knee patches to breeches?

I just got some new cotton breeches in the mail and they're great except the knee patch section is not the clarino I thought. It's the same material as the pants. Are there any patches (full seat or knee) that can be ironed on? How can cotton help you in the saddle. Seems like it'd be slippery. Thanks.

Sorry i haven't ever heard of ironing on clarino knee patches and i typed it in to see if they sell them but i couldnt find anything. I have had cotton knee patches and it really didn't affect me maybe as much as you would think. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful. But if it really bothers you i guess you could just return them and buy ones with the kind of knee patches you prefer. It should say what kind of knee patches they are somewhere on the listing. Good luck :)

What brand name of riding breeches should I buy for schooling?

I am petite and like both full seat and knee patches. I want breeches that are all cotton with a bit of stretch and are cool. I just about sweltered in my Kerrits. I just want something simple and cool for schooling

I love Dublin. Get them on Dover closeout for around $20-40. They last forever, are thick enough to be warmish in the winter, but really cool in the summer. They come in both knee patch and full seat. Devon-aire won't last long though.

What size breeches do I need?

I need to buy some breeches and I am unsure what size I should get, the ones I was lookinat at are TuffRider Cotton Microfiber Side Zip Breeches 34R . I'm 5'5.5 and weigh about 125 depending on the brand usually about a 7/8 in juniors jeans. Also do you think the brand is ok? Thanks!

I think that should be good. Tuffrider is a reliable brand. My breeches are from some unknown manufacturer, but they're awesome, so...

If you havent already, go to a local horse store and just try on breeches and then order them on the internet if you want.

How do you prevent human saddle sores? Sometimes I get friction burns when I ride - any prevention tips?

My saddle is really comfy, I have been riding for 30 years and I always wear cotton breeches and knickers.
It's not on my legs - it's on my bum cheek! And I do have regular lessons - in fact it was a lesson today that gave me one! It only happens occasionly.

You can get a natural sheep skin saddle cover they work well and still offer good grip

Are breeches tighter than jodhpurs? (Is this a good idea? HELP!)?

I need to get some breeches now. I would be a size 30 for the breeches I am getting, but to get a looser fit, I am getting size 32. BUT...I do not want the breeches to be tight on my legs. Would it be a good idea to get a size 34, or stay with the size 32?

My jods size is 28 with looser fit.

By the way, I had the Tuff Rider Kentucky Jods and I want to get On Course Naturals Full Seat Cotton Breeches.

stay with 32 i think that would work fine.....if they don't work you can always take them back........good luck!!!!!!!!!!

  • How to Buy the Best Riding Breeches and Jodhpurs: A History and ...

No article of clothing anyone wears while horseback riding comes in closer or more widespread contact with the horse than riding breeches or jodhpurs. From the ankles or shins up through the legs and thighs to the seat, that one piece of clothing dramatically affects the riding experience for both the rider and the horse, contributing to the communication, and the comfort and ease, between them.

Horsemen recognized that fact at least as long ago as the mid-seventeenth century. That’s when riders in Europe first began to wear form-fitted pants that met or tucked under the top of long riding boots. Such breeches provided a wealth of advantages over ordinary trousers, and they still do today.
