I have a men's blazer that I would like to clean, it has a 100% cotton outer shell, 65%polyester/35%cotton interior lining but the fabric care tag says it should be dry cleaned. Is this true? Or can I throw in the washer and dry it on normal? Please let me know what you think I should do.

I will give you the same answer I have given before.
Yes you can clean it your self. Here comes the BUT once it is dry you will have to iron it. Cotton is not wash and wear. If you don't mind the ironing then do it your self. Woolite in the sink them air dry but it in the dryer in low when it is almost dry, this will soft it up. Then iron. 75% of clothes brought to the cleaner are more for pressing the the cleaning.

I live in England and am moving to Singapore later this year. I am thinking of buying a white wool and cotton blazer, which is for summers in England but I fear it might be too hot for Singapore. Can anyone there advise me? Would it be okay in the evenings?
email4vikram - I like dressing up and want to be able to wear a jacket or suit of some sort there, if possible. Caretaker - I do plan on having a white suit made there, but am not sure if I could find fabric like this blazer has, as it's very English.
you would seriously get heatstroke if u wear a wool blazer in Singapore.
there are many customised tailors in Singapore, located in town area such as Tanglin Shopping Centre, which is very popular among the Westerners due to its array of services available there. There are tailors, Chinese ornament shops and good medical doctors there.
You can also buy good-looking clothes in town. Although the price would be rather steep, however, it would be 1/3 the price if u convert back to pounds!!

It's more important that the styles and colors go together than the fabrics. Just about every fabric goes with every other fabric (the exceptions being leather, faux leather, and suede). You can also use different fabric combinations to change the formality of the outfit. I have satin skirt, and when I wear it with a satin tank top, it looks very dressy. I can also pair it with a cotton tank top and sweater and make it almost casual.
i have a khaki colored cotton blazer. and i have a marker stain on it. the marker is those white board expo markers. can clue on how to remove it? i tried soap and water. it doesnt work. the bleach pens will probably turn the stain a different color
Murphy's oil soap! Put a clean cloth or towel under the stain ause a damp songe and dab Murphy's oil soap on the stain. Keep working it until it comes out. Then rinse the sponge until it runs clear and sponge the Murphy's oil soap from the fabric.
A trip to the cleaners may still be becessary, but the stain will be gone.
