Cotton Ball

I read in this magazine that if you wet a cotton ball and put it in the microwave for a bit, it would start smoking, but wouldn't completely catch fire. Is this true, or did I get it wrong? I really wanted to do this, to play a trick on my mom.
I tried it a couple of times, once for 10 sec., then 30, and then I tried a little over a minute, but I only have a few left and I don't want to waste them all trying.

The only brand that I can find in stores is "Organic Essentials" & the only size available is SUPER HUGE. I don't like them because A) they are unnecessarily large & B) they leave cotton strands/bits everywhere. I need them for acupuncture & I don't think it's cool to leave cotton every place there was a needle on my patients. Obviously I can't use conventional cotton balls because those are an environmental disaster. Anyone know of an organic ball with a strong constitution?

i've used organic essentials from a local store that carries them, and they aren't very large. Also, they've stayed together. Maybe you had bad luck?

The cotton tip of the q-tip dettached from its stick, and now the cotton is in my ear. I tried using a teezer to get it out but it didnt work. I need help to removing the cotton ball from my ears.

Call your doctor, go to an urgent care center, or a first aid center and have someone take it out for you. . . If you keep trying on your own you might push it in further and possibly rupture your tympanic membrane! Be careful, Best of luck to you!!

I was wondering if i can wash my face with cotton ball?

Okay, right now i'm using Clinique's skin products. I have the mild liquid soap, toner and moisturizer. Can i put some of the mild liquid soap onto the cotton ball and use that to wash my face? I just don't want my hand to touch my skin.

It's best to use your fingers so you can stimulate the skin cells on your face. I wouldn't say a cotton ball is bad, if it can hold up and you really don't want to touch your face, go for it. But I'd try using any gently cloth to gently wash away dirt and oil. In the shower your hands will be clean so there is no worry for spreading oil and dirt to your clean face. No worries.

Of Course, Glass ball is much harder.
