Light Cotton T-shirt

I don't have a problem with light coloured t-shirts but black ones seem to have a sort of smell after sometime of wearing. Why is this so?

The black T-shirts absorb much heat and you sweat easier than with a light -colouring one! Thats why they smell more than the others!

i have i light gray cotton t shirt that i want black. could i just go to a craft store and buy black fabric dye? would it turn out strangely? what about a light green shirt because i would like to do that as well. i just don't know if you can only dye white shirts or not. thank you!

A cotton shirt should dye very well to black and you can do it in your wash machine. Just follow the instructions on the fabric dye. Rit brand dye instructions recommend using extra dye for dark colors, so buy extra for black. You may need to add salt as per the directions. It is also a good idea to add a tablespoon of mild laundry detergent. If the shirt is new, wash it without softener before starting the dying process. During the dye process, make sure to agitate the shirt the entire time it is in the dye bath to make sure the color comes out evenly.

Some Cautionary Tips: The thread will probably not "take" the dye, so it may look lighter than the rest of the shirt. This may look okay, or it may look weird.
Also, your washer will have dye all over the inside after wards. To clean it, wash an extra large load of dark towels on the hottest setting.
If you are using powdered dye, make sure that _all_ of the powder is dissolved before adding your shirt.
Wet your shirt before adding to the dye bath.
Pour your dye carefully and splash as little as possible.
Wear old clothes or an apron when you do dyeing.
Wear rubber gloves.
Remember that items will dry lighter than they look when they are wet.

Ok i was wanting to buy one of those junior baseball t-shirts online. On the website is shows a picture of the shirt but it looks kinda loose on the girl wearing it. I was wanting a form fitting shirt and I wasn't sure if it was loose looking because the girl's shirt is too big or because of the fabric. Here is the material the website says the shirt is made out of. 100% comfortsoft cotton 5.5oz., light steel- cotton/polyester. Does that mean it will be form fitting?

I know hairspray has worked for me in the past. My mom passed that info down to me. It all depends on the ink and how set in the stain is. Try a LOT of hairspray on it and then pre-treat it with a good brand names stain out and then launrdry with a good soap like Tide.

what makes the t shirt softer and lighter? is it just strictly which cotton is used to make the shirt or does thread count or some thing like that change the feel of it?

Cotton allows your skin to breathe and have ventilation to allow everyday toxins be flushed out through your pores and next through your 100% cotton t-shirt. Hence, the softness.
Thread count can matter, making some t-shirts ultra expensive in very upscale shops and stores.

Polyester, rayon, and other synthetic materials do not allow your skin to breathe like cotton, resulting in a "harsher" stiffer feel.
