I just got two XL tee shirts and theyre both 90% cotton 10% polyester. Im like 5'10, pretty skinny and i usually wear large or medium. How can I shrink them down to my size? Will hot water and putting them in the drier ge the job done?

The 10% polyester might get in your way. you can give it a try anyways, it will shrink a bit when you use the dryer

I need to shrink a black cotton tee shirt.
I know you're supposed to wash it on hot, partially dry it, and steam iron it, but I'm worrying about the first step.
It seems a waste of hot water to only be washing one shirt, but I don't know what else I could wash with it. I know hot water is for white clothing, but i don't want to black to bleed.
So what can I do?

Use the "small" load setting on your washer and you will waste a minimal amount of hot water. Throw in a pair of black jeans -- any color from the tee shirt will touch up the jeans. If you have more than one pair of black jeans, adjust the water level accordingly (up to medium or large).

For a small load, use about a third of the detergent you would use for a normal (large) load -- half for a medium load.

Okay. This Zanussi clothes washer is driving me nuts. Yes, I am an Americo who is completely unfamiliar with E. European washing machines, but, like, I can repair my car when I need to!! What's up with this machine??

(1) What letter do I want to use on the dial of a Zanussi FL904NN to wash cotton tee shirts at a warm but not hot temperature?

(2) What letter do I use when I want to wash something in cold water?

(3) What did my machine run for 3 1/2 hours today??

(4) Did the Soviets leave this thing behind? It looks new.

I understand you cannot figure out letters on one of the knobs (the rest should be intuitive right?). So the meanings of the letters (programs) are as follows:

A – extra dirty whites with pre-wash (temperature 60-95C), 4 rinses, spin
B – less dirty whites without pre-wash when set on 60-95C, or colors when set on 30-60C; 4 rinses, spin
C - fast wash at 30-40C, 4 rinses, spin
D – 4 rinses in cold water, spin
F - 1 rinse in cold water, spin
G – long spin
H – extra dirty synthetic fibers with pre-wash (30-60C), 3 rinses, no drain, no spin
J – synthetic fibers without pre-wash (30-60C), 3 rinses, no drain, no spin
K – delicates (30-40C) , 3 rinses, no drain, no spin
L – wool (30-40C). 3 rinses, no drain, no spin
M – 3 rinses, no drain, no spin
N – delicate drain and short spin (use after programs H to M)
P – drain (use after programs H to M)

So to answer your questions:
(1) Use C with temperature set at 30-40C
(2) Use C with temperature set at * (star) (it means cold water)
(3) Probably you selected the longest program, then pushed some buttons requesting extra rinses and extra spins.
(4) Your landlord bought it to drive you nuts.

i have a few 100% cotton shirts that i want to shrink ALOT, because their long tee's...
now i have a dryer, can i just dry it in the dryer on HOT
or do i have to wash it hot THAN dry?

I would run it under really hot water in a sink if you don't have a washer then put it in the dryer on hot.
