The shirts are white cotton of good quality and I don't want to throw them away, I would like to remove the embroidered logo in the shirt pocket. If you have a trick please let me know, or know of some tool I can use.
First off be very patient. Most embroidered designs are done with a lock stitch technique which means that every stitch must be individually removed. With that said, you should definitely invest in an inexpensive seam ripper (1 to 2 dollars tops) as they have a fine tip and razor edge to cut rather than pull the thread.
Once you have removed all the threads, you should steam the area so that the individual fibers begin to come together to hide the place where the logo was. The really tricky part is making the area where the stitching used to be look like the rest of the shirt. Give it time, a few washes and ironings and you should be fine.

My husband has a new shirt with a red embroidered logo and I don't want it to ruin the shirt by running. Someone once told me to soak anything red in salt water before washing it, but I don't think that works. Any suggestions?
Wash it in Cold water with an all natural Laundry Detergent like MelaPower. The formaldehyde in Tide, Cheer, ALL, etc... will cause the shirt to bleed.
You can also add Oxi Clean to the load to help prevent the red dye from re-settling onto the white shirt.

The shirt is black cotton, and the logo is red and yellow, but I don't know what it's made of. I'm not going to get a company issued replacement and I don't want to spend $35 to replace it myself. I have more than one shirt, but this one is more faded and I got a couple of tiny bleach spots on it. I thought if anyone had any ideas or had tried this, then maybe I could experiment on this one shirt that's in the worst shape.
If you just throw the shirt into black dye than yes the loge will dye also. There's a process called batik that make patterns on fabrics using wax and dye, where ever the melted wax is placed the fabric doesn't dye, then you could hot iron on the reverse side of the logo to remelt the wax off.The trick is to prevent the logo from soaking up the dye. I'm not sure if that would work because I have never tried it. .I have just used a black permanent marker(or whatever color the fabric is) on the bleached spots and that works fine. Good luck.

There is also like pictures of the ecko unltd logo also. would that be wrecked?
If it is embroidery, probably not. It is usually a cotton fiber that is used for the embroidery. For other shirts, it is a good idea to turn them inside out when washing them so the pictures do not get wrecked. However, the pictures will get wrecked with washing over the long haul. You might want to even handwash somethings.
At work our uniform is a black shirt (60% poly 40% cotton) with the logo embroidered in white. Recently many of the logos seem to be turning pink ... can't figure out if it is because people are washing their shirts with red clothes or because there is red dye leaking from the black.
What is the best way to remove the pink from the white embroidery without damaging the surrounding black material?
Thanks
