Cotton Shirt Size

I ordered a shirt and its too big and also looks very awkward on me. Its a size Medium and I have no clue how to shrink it down. Help!

Wash in Hot water and tumble dry on High Hot.

I have a shirt that's a bit loose on me so I'd like to shrink it. If I put it in the dryer on regular heat instead of low will that do it?

Ok since most of my shirts are 100% cotton i love em right. so after i wash em they shrink down mean old status!

I need help cuz i am tired of buying new shirts every week

wash it by itself in cold water and then dont put it in the dryer, let it air dry.

I bought a 100% cotton shirt today and it's quite big. And I kind of want to return it and get a smaller size, but then I'm afraid THAT shirt would shrink and become too small. Should I get the smaller size, or shrink the baggy shirt? PLEASE HELP! thank you :)

Sometimes they shrink the wrong direction. I have a couple of shirts that are shorter, but not narrower, when I tried to shrink them. I would return it for a size that fits, then launder in cold water only, and hang on a hanger to dry. You will most likely have to iron it. Bet it will take longer for the iron to heat up than for you to iron the shirt!

I just washed a new favourite 100% woven cotton shirt. I was careful enough to wash it in cold water and hung it up to dry, but it still shrunk. Is there anything that can be done to get the cotton to expand back to its original size or at least to expand a little bit???

you can rewet the shirt and stretch it out but make sure all the seams are straight and it is flat to dry or you will end up with an out of shape shirt..Its called "blocking"
