All Cotton T-shirt

What is the best way to shrink a cotton t-shirt? Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Wash in hot water, dry on high heat. Do at your risk, may shrink too much and be unwearable.
Buy your stuff from walmart and it will shriink for you when you wash it.

I need to get this new large slim fit cotton t-shirt to a medium, I bought it as a large and totally overestimated my self lol, uhm I can't return it (lost receipt and all), and I haven't washed it yet, SO If I was it on hot and dry it on hot will it come out to a medium?

If it is 100% cotton you have avery good chance of shrinking it. If it has been preshrunk or is a spandex blend not so much.
You have nothing to lose at this point, unless you can get store credit(?)

i exercise a lot, and a few of my workout shirts have started showing dark sweat stains in the under-arm area. i have watched them and stains are still there. the t-shirts are all 100% cotton. how can i get these stains out?
i meant to say "washed", not "watched".

If you have washed them many times and dried them the stains may be set and not come out. You can use bleach on white. I mix bleach with Mean Green to get stubborn stains out offwhite.It gets baby formula out also.You can hang them in the bright sun for the day and the sun bleaches it.You might try regular peroxide on it also. It really gets tough stuff out.You propbaly need to rinse the underarms out as soon as you finish exercising so they will not set into the material.Most stains come out while they are still wet if you will remember to do it.You may need to change deoderants also. It may be reacting to your body and causing the stains! Best wishes!

Three suggestions:
1) http://www.patternreview.com to help you select a pattern. Jalie 2005 seems to be an overwhelming favorite

2) Cotton jersey is cheaper, but interlock is more stable and easier to handle -- I'd suggest interlock (which looks the same on both sides) instead of jersey for the first t or two.

You might also check to see if you can find a copy of KwikSew's book Sweatshirts Unlimited. This has a nice basic discussion of sewing dartless basics like t-shirts and sweatshirts on both a sewing machine and a serger. Very step by step, even if the illustrations are very 80's. Good information on making design changes to basic patterns, too.

I had gotten honey gold tinted wood sealant on my white cotton t-shirt. I washed it after pre-treating it with laundry detergent and it all still there.

you must use paint thinner as soon as possible. after it is dry is to late.
1. start with clean cloth. soak part of it in thinner, then apply on spot. wipe gently, keeping area wet with thinner. repeat until spot is removed.
2. soap and water to remove thinner.

i have removed much worse . a quart of oil base paint in floorboard of my car. about 3 hours of constant work with thinner approx. 11/2 gallons
