100 Cotton White Shirt

I like all-cotton white dress shirts. However after 4 or 5 uses they start getting yellowish under the armpits, which looks terrible. I could replace them after 4-5 uses, but at $45 each that would run a little too expensive for my wallet

Bleach works great for getting out stains. I use bleach on my white cotton sheets, and it's just fine.

You might want to change your deodorant. If you use a spray, switch to a stick, or vice versa. I used to have that problem when I was working housekeeping, and I switched to a stick deodorant to get rid of the problem.

dispose of the shirt, you can lighten it with nail polish remover, but you will never get it you could try dying the shirt black or the color of the nail polish

Its a 2 day old stain.

As it is 100% cotton you could try a solution of cold water with a little bleach, and then a hot wash, or try pouring some neat stain remover directly on to it and give it a scrub just around the stain, and you must use cold water not hot with the bleach as hot water sets the stain.

Any suggestions of specific dyes to use for the process?

Dying probably won't work because the armpit areas will take on a different shade of the dye.

Better to remove the stains - use white vinegar or hydrogen peroxide, let soak, then rinse and *line* dry (don't use the dryer). Repeat until the stains are gone.

At a loss with this one! My daughter gave it to me to try to see if I could get it out, but I've tried all I know. The stain was originally blood.l It is not that large, but large enough to see on the white. I've tried shout, with ERA det. Have bleached it, borax'd it, baking soda'd it. No luck. I'm not sure how she got it set in, but suspect she didn't notice when washing it herself, so it set in the dryer. She gave it to me with stain set. I was sure the bleach would do it. Usually does. Any suggestions would be helpful. It is rather expensive and one of her favorites.

Try peroxide. They use that all the time in the hospital. It always worked really well with blood when my grandmother would have surgeries and other things and blood would get into her clothing. Don't know if it will work on set in stains but it works on everything else that i've ever got blood on.
