100 Cotton Shirt

I have a 100% cotton flannel and it is a size M. I think it is too big so maybe if I put it in the dryer and set it on high repeatedly, will the shirt shrink a lot? maybe even to the same size as S? thanks!
Will the overall shirt shrink? does that shorten the sleeve by a lot?

There is a good chance that it will shrink to a size small if it has not already been dried and shrunk already. If it is a brand new shirt, you have good chances that it will be the size you will like after a few cycles.

I just recently ordered a 100% cotton shirt offline and i don't have the time or patience to return it for a larger size. How do I keep the shrinking of the t-shirt to a minimum?

Always wash it on the 'delicate' cycle in COLD water and let it 'hang dry' ... the heat in the water and the heat in the dryer can both 'cause shrinkage' in 100% cotton. But you need to 'check the label' to find out if you can tell if what you are getting is 'natural cotton' that will shrink or 'pre-shrunk' cotton, which can be washed in warm/hot water and dried in the dryer.

I bought a thermal/waffle shirt made of 100% cotton but it says "Hand wash and line dry only." Dry cleaning is ok too. It is a tad too big and I was planning on putting it in the dryer to shrink it just a bit. It has some markings on it that will surely melt in the dryer. What can I do?

Try washing it in very hot water and letting it air dry. You might be able to dry it in the dryer if you put it on a very low setting and check it frequently, but if the markings are made of certain kinds of rubber they can put out harmful fumes.

i bought a 100% cotton shirt and i really like the body length of the shirt, but the sleeves are a bit long. is there a way to shrink the sleeves and shrink the body a little as possible?

sure, just wash the sleeves in hot water, without getting the body wet, then dry

I recently bought a 100% cotton shirt. It's a plaid button down shirt and i'm wondering how much it would shrink and if i could, how to prevent it from shrinking.

Most of the time not at all. But if it does shrink in the slightest, the most it will shrink is 1/4 size down. It's fine. Just use warm water int he wash.
