Today i had art class and we were using permanent paint. i got some on the sleeve my American Eagle Long sleeve shirt. Its 100% cotton.
How do i get it out?
I put oxy-clean on it and put it in the was and it didn't come out.
What will get it out FOR SURE.

You can try acetone or nail polish remover, or chlorine bleach but not much will take it out without removing the color of the shirt also.

It depends on how much you want to shrink it...100% Cotton will usually only shrink up to about an inch all the way around....and alot of stuff is being sold as preshrunk, so make sure it has not been preshrunk. But yes, wash the shirt in the hottest water possible and dry it on the highest heat setting possible.

i bought a 100% cotton shirt and i really like the body length of the shirt, but the sleeves are a bit long. is there a way to shrink the sleeves and shrink the body a little as possible?

sure, just wash the sleeves in hot water, without getting the body wet, then dry

Not wanting to use the horrible chemicals of dry cleaning how can I wash a 100% cotton long sleeve gorgeous plaid shirt..It was a gift...
Definitely do not want it shrinking but also do not want the harmful chemicals of drycleaning in it..Any suggestions would be appreciated........

I am with you to avoid the chemical cleaners. If you take the shirt and fill your laundry tub with cold water and a bar of mild pure soap, you can rub the soap on the damp shirt and concentrate on the cuffs, particularly near the buttons, collar inside where the neck rubs and scrub by hand all over. Also be sure you do the arm pit area carefully too as the deodorants we use can leave marks and build up. Once it is scrubbed clean by hand, rinse in two fresh cold water rinses. Do not wring heavily but squeeze the moisture out. Hang the shirt on a line to dry... avoid the dryer as this may cause shrinking. And be sure you do wash in cold water as hot can make shrinkage possible. Once the shirt is dry, iron as usual and you should have your shirt for a long time to enjoy.
