Cotton Wrap Robe

Last week I saw a man exist a house with a few other people. He stood out because he was wearing a white robe, the kind that you wrap about yourself. He also had what appeared to have been tape or a piece of cloth sealing his mouth. Because of the way he was dressed I think he may have been observing some sort of religious event but I haven't found any religion that does this. Can anyone help?

Never heard of this one.

Maybe it was prank or a joke on someone there.

This sounds real strange. Was it a fraternity and he was the newby?

Are you the type of person that likes to wrap themselves in a rope or towel after a nice shower??? I personally LOVE a nice soft cotton strong robe to wrap myself in. I could lounge in it all day and i don't like towels because they don't feel that comfortable to me. What do you like??

I am trying to make a Tusken Raider costume from Star Wars for both this years Halloween and next years Toronto Fan Expo in Canada.

I am having trouble hunting down suitable materials to use for the robes of the Tusken. Preshrunk Cotton Weave works, and old military style cotton blankets have also been suggested. Cotton bedsheets have also been brought up.

A cloth like material is also needed to wrap both the hands/gloves and a pair of boots, plus a variation of the Tusken Cycler Rifle I am making. Bandage comes to mind, almost like a Mummy costume... but it can not have the same texture as Gauss (a visible patchy pattern), it must be smooth, as least for the gloves and boots.

If anyone has any suggestions on a good material to use, and where to buy/obtain it, I would appreciate it.

A Trickster’s Gift

Lying on the countertop
beckons
a square box.
“Open, open.”
Its voice echoed.

So I loose the ribbon
of fine patchwork
with silk
and pink cotton candy
intertwined,
fit for a spider king.

It gently unravels,
humbling into a strip
of peasant fabric,
resting plain
on the countertop.

Now I reach the wrapping
of shimmering periwinkle
and skewed mirrors
reflecting
rainbow illusions.

My nails dig
into this royal robe,
cracking
every glass mirror,
Then tossing
the paper remnants
To the heathens below.

And out
lays
the lid.—
The open lock
of a treasure box.

With the eyes of a lion
and its trembling paws,
I clumsily sifted
The first opening
With two
trembling
thumbs.

Then,
With a thrash,
The lion’s claws
Flung the lid
With a merciless swoosh
Ready to devour.
And look—

Empty.

i can tell you worked hard on this! it sounds good to me! but one thing i would say is to 'hide' the message. i feel like this is more of a story than a poem. so maybe 'hide' the message you're trying to get through to the reader and they'll want to read more; as to say "well what's going to be next?!" in an anxious way. wanting to read more of it. one more thing.. you said it was your first draft. maybe a few more drafts and it'll sound more professional. hope i helped! :]

I'm going to a university where the bathrooms are communal, and I like the idea of the shorts on this romper better than the idea of a wrap dress. I just don't know if it will be as practical as I'm imagining.

it's terry, 100% cotton, so the absorbency shouldn't be an issue.
