Can you sleep in a cotton robe? Is that weird? It's really lightweight not like a spa or bath robe.?

You can sleep in whatever you want to sleep in.

What is the best fabric or brand for a mens bath robe? ?

I am thinking of buying my boyfriend a plush bath robe for Christmas. I want to buy it online but cant feel them! Cotton? Terry?
THANKS MBS!

I would say fleece, or Terry Cloth is always really nice! Because if he puts it on after a shower Terry cloth absorbs water nicely.

Best material for Bath Robe?

I'm looking for a dressing gown for myself and my girlfriend - one each of course, not one to share ;-) - and am a bit confused by all the different materials available! There's cotton, polyester, velour? I'm looking for something nice and fluffy, comfy and warm. Mmmmmmmmm......

I seem to have found a few that say towelling on the inside and velour on the outside which sounds good. Interested if anyone has any personal preferences/experiences?

Thanks!
Guys, although I do really appreciate your comments and I can imagine that silk robes are AMAZING, I'm looking for something to keep me warm lounging around the house. Silk isn't going to keep me warm! :-(

yup, terry cotton on the inside and velour on the outside. just checkd my label, reger (think janet reger) at debenhams. got it reduced after xmas, down from £70ish to £17. bargain. and its aubergine, my fave colour. lots on-line tho if you wanna spend money. can't beat 'the white company'. class.

just read your extra. still go with the white company. they've got lovely lounge wear. wish i could afford the whole collection.

Are you supposed to wear clothes under bath robes?

Hi i'm 14 and am honestly wondering wether or not people are supposed to wear clothes underneath bathrobes. Eveyday when I take a shower and shave, I dry off and just wear my pink kneelength cotton bathrobe. I wear that around the house until I go to bed. When I do go to bed I just take my robe off and lay down because I sleep in the nude most of the time, don't ask me why, i'm just comfortable that way. Well the other day I was wrestling with my 7 year old brother after I had my shower. I have to watch him most of the time. When we were wrestling he pulled on my belt and it came undone, it was open down the middle. It didn't open past my boobs but it was all the way open down the middle and he could see my vagina. When it opened, he stopped and looked at me, then I closed it real quick. He was like "are you naked?" I said "yes!" then he was like "how come you don't have any hair down there like mommy?" I just ignored him. My mom and dad came home about an hour later and when we were all sitting on the couch watching tv, my brother told my mom that he seen me naked. I jumped in and was like "we were wrestling and my robe came open." My dad said "do you have clothes on under that?" I said no and he was like "you're not suppose to wear that without any clothes on underneath. You understand?" Then he told me to go put some clothes on. Isn't the point of bathrobes to make it so that you can just throw it on after bathing? (hence the name, bathrobe) Also, i'm starting to think that my brother did that on purpose to try and get a look at me. My friends have told me that their little brothers try and see them naked sometimes. I mean, I wouldn't put it past him, i'm not trying to sound arrogant or anything but, I think i'm pretty attractive. I tan, and I workout hard to make sure I keep my body very tight. Are you really suppose to wear clothes under bathrobes? And, do you think my brother is a little pervert?

To answer your questions...No, you are not supposed to wear anything under your bathrobe. But, in your case I think your father told you to wear clothes under it from now on to prevent that from happening again. From what it sounds like the robe opened accidentally. I personally wouldn't have wrestled with him in a just a robe anyway.

No, your little brother is not a pervert...he is 7 and curious. They ask questions. He's a child. If it happens again then I would have a conversation with your parents. Just put on some clothes, hopefully it won't happen again.

A bath robe is also called a housecoat or a dressing gown. A bathrobe is usually made from absorbent fabric or toweling. Serving both as an informal garment and a towel.
