the product i use for bedding is called carefresh, its not really cotton its like a white thick paper almost, its hard to explain unless you have seen it or used it.
what makes me think they dislike the carefresh is that they throw it out of all the places they sleep and play. i have cut up some toliet paper rolls and they have used that to put in there beds instead but I need something I can buy in bulk.
There home is a three story cage, the only reason I feel that I need to find a bedding they like is because the 2nd and 3rd floors have wire floors and they like to sleep on these floors. I have one house that has a solid bottom where they usually like to sleep on the 2nd floor but on the top floor where one of them loves to sleep the 3 homes i have for her have no bottoms and the wire floor looks so uncomfortable for her. Like I said she just throws the carefresh and the cotton fluff bedding out of her house.
Just go to Petsmart, or any other decent pet store and have a look at what they have to offer, there's loads to choose from.
Stay away from cedar or pine shaving tho - or any wood shaving really. Not good for rodents. Anything papery is fine - shredded paper is nice for them to burrow into. I give my mices 'safe bedding' as a substrate (that's paper flakes Petsmart do, sounds like the stuff you're using though) and shredded paper to burrow into.
Rats don't always want bedding though, so try a few different types with them but if they always chuck it out of their beds or whatever then don't worry about it - have some bedding their for them, it's there if they want it and if they don't, then fine..

I have 100% cotton white bed sheets but over time they've started to discolour and go grubby (on the side my ex boyfriend used to sleep). How can I get them all white again? I usually wash them 30 degrees to be environmentally friendly. Should I treat them/soak them in something/put them in a hot wash?
Could you be more specific? :)
Could anyone suggest a product, and give me an idea of what temperature to wash the sheets in? Thanks x
Thanks Laura, that does help :)
Use bleach and warm to hot water.
I'm not sure how to be more specific; I guess it depends on your washer. Most washers have a bleach compartment that dispenses the bleach (or bleach alternative) at the appropriate point in the cycle. You shouldn't have to soak the sheets overnight. As for temperature, use something at the high end of what your washer offers. Hopefully this helps.

I just bought a bunch of white bath towels from bed bath and beyond, the royal velvet line. I have washed them several times, but the cotton keeps coming off the towel when I dry myself off. Is there something else I could be doing so my towels are literally shedding on me?
The first thing that came to mind was: are you washing them with anything else? Have you cleaned the lint trap and all that stuff? Sometimes towels can also be a lint grabber.
Even though they're made of a standard cotton, those towels shouldn't be shedding after several washings. I would return them.
you will be able, once dried, to pull the polish off, but the color will remain because the cotton will have set it in, no matter the color,
sorry
