I'm trying to decide which bed sheets to get my boyfriend for Christmas. He has 100% pima/600? TC. I would like to spend no more than $75. I was thinking egyptian cotton/pima sateen. So, send some examples over my way of sheets that you have loved or hated so I know what to avoid. Links or names of stores would be great! Thank You!
You can't go wrong with egyptian cotton, I wont sleep on anything else anymore. There really soft and comfortable. You can get those for way under $75 or way up 500. But for me , I have slept on regular sheets and the good stuff, can't go back.
North American and Egyptian Cottons. While Egyptian cotton can be Pima, not all is. ... "Pima Cotton" "Cotton Sheets" " ...
I've had great soft soft sheets but don't remember what I bought. Is it Pima cotton? Is it Egyptian Cotton? Is it the highest thread count, etc. I know that the sheets I've liked best just one day wear completely out. They get holes in them but they sure are comfortable while they last. I just bought 100% cotton 300 thread count by Martex and they are SCRATCHY!!
the higher the thread count, the softer, and longest lasting

I'm tring to find nice bed sheets...cotton only. No flannel, silk, satin, polyester blends etc. I know the higher the thread count the better is the common rule, but I'm not sure thats always the case, so I want names. Also, please no statements like egyptian cottan, pima cotton etc. unless you have a name brand and location. I know you can buy bed sheets at bed bath, and beyond but there are so many choices to make I want someone who can give me a good recommendation for sheets.
It's all about the thread count. As you wash the higher thread count, they don't pill, they stay absorbent and feel as soft as silk. I found some 1000 TC, but you could look on overstock for anything over 400 and be VERY happy. Brand does not make a difference in bed.http://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/100 0-TC-Egyptian-Cotton-Striped-Sheet-Set/2 941327/product.html?
If you really want the best, though, why not go for pure silk? Mmmmmm...http://www.vivaterra.com/pls/enetrixp/!s tmenu_template.main?complex_id_in=482007 .486161.908110.3132885.page

What is Pima Cotton?
Pima Cotton, also known as Extra Long Staple (ELS), is a particular kind of cotton that is grown chiefly in a number of countries, most prominently in the southwestern region of the United States, Peru, and Australia. Pima cotton is considered as one of the best cotton blends and is known for its high durability and absorbency. Pima cotton got its name from the Pima Native Americans who were the first people to cultivate this type of cotton in the United States. But Pima cotton's origins can actually be traced back to Peru. The common upland cotton comes from the plant species Gossypium hirsutum while Pima cotton is from the plant species Gossypium barbadense.
Pima cotton actually has many similarities to Egyptian cotton and its many different forms (it is often used in making towels and bed sheets). Egyptian cotton is known for having an extensive weave and because of this, products made from it are softer and can absorb water more quickly.
