Have used just plain baking soda, fabric softener and regular Wisk liquid and the sheets still make me itch. I washed the material in warm water and tumble dried them on low heat setting.
Try washing them in white vinegar and water with nothing else because the vinegar will wash away any left over chemical residue. Then dry them without dryer sheets. Good luck.

My mother in law gave us this nice looking bed sheets but I am unsure if they are actually very comfortable, I am suspecting that they are too warm for the summer, are these better for the winter? Since it is a 500 thread fabric, it is not thin and I am wondering it this is ok for the summer. The package simply says Everyday Luxe a Hotel Collection, 500 thread count 100% cotton sateen weave. I am used to the cheaper cotton and polyester kind and I am almost going back to the store and exchanging this. What is your experience with this kind of bed sheet?
These are quite nice and probably expensive. They are, however, a bit warm and would be best used in cold weather. The higher the thread count the tighter the weave and the less they breathe and the more they weigh. There are a lot of great blends out there when it comes to sheets. It's really what YOU like but don't be afraid to try something new. Most dept. stores have samples of their sheets hanging by them so you can feel them. Check it out and go with how they feel to you.

I have had satin sheets before and i couldent keep anything on the bed including myself. lol. Is the egyptian cotton sateen a finer cotton?
Yes they are different. The 400 tc sateen cotton sheets have a smooth look and are very luxurious feeling but, unlike slippery satin, there is just enough friction to keep you between the sheets instead of sliding out of the bed. It's also easier to make the bed as the sheets don't move around as much when you're trying to straighten them out. My husband and I have that type of sheets on our bed.

What's with the sateen? I live in FL, is that going to be warm? I don't need warm. Please advise of what is considered "good" when it comes to sheets for the bed. It has to be cotton though. Any experiences with egyptian cotton? I saw some other ones there that read egyptian cotton.
It has been said here, but the lower the count, the ROUGHER the material is. The count refers to the numbers of lines per inch as it is woven. A 200 count for a bedsheet would leave most people feeling like they were sleeping on course wool. I personally wait till they go on sale and get nothing less than 400. 800 to 1000 feels like silk and is much more expensive. Sateen is a reference to the look and feel and is a good thing to have.
bought bedsheets that are250 thread count.
front of package says 100% cotton
back of package says 100% cotton sateen (algodon)
note: the word algodon has and accent mark over the second "o"
i put the sheets on the bed already but the pkg says to maching wash before use. I really don't fell like taking them off, washing and putting them back on the bed. is it really necessary?
the sheets are all white --like snow--with pinstripes
"Algódon" is Spanish and means cotton.
They don't have to be washed right out of the package, but there is a starch-like product in them that makes them rather stiff, giving that new, crisp feel. It doesn't fully come out in the first wash, in my experience. Some people may be allergic or sensitive to it, so washing before using is a good idea.
The cotton sateen has a silk-like appearance without the feel of silk. I don't like the sateen because it feel greasy to me, and I find it creates a lot of static, especially in dry winter. It does look nice in bed sheets when woven with ordinary silk to create stripes, though.

I agree with other reviewers: the quality is superb and the ceiling seems very attractive, but it folds automatically out of the dryer. I have not slept for two months and was very impressed. In addition, the girlfriend was going to test, which is of great importance for the guys who did not make much sense interior decoration is (like yours truly). Overall, if you are considering the purchase of the quilt, go ahead, you will not be disappointed, just what I have been deliberately targeted and the other auditors.
