Cotton Bed Quilt

I washed it, and didn't notice the stain and already dried it once, so I'm afraid it's set in for good. Any advice?

I am interested in using some fabric to make a quilt/duvet cover for my bed.

Can cotton duck be used to for bedding? Or is it too stiff?

Yes, it is much too stiff -- it would be like sleeping under cardboard.

It should be easy to find a pattern like that in a soft muslin, percale or other soft cotton. In fact, I have seen many sheet patterns like that floral. Buying two flat sheets and stitching them together on three sides with buttons or snaps along the fourth edge is a quick and economical way to make a duvet cover. The problem with making a duvet with fabric you buy by the yard is that it is usually not wide enough and you have to make a seam down the middle or on two sides to get the width to cover the bed.

Last night I had really sore lips and so decided to get the vaseline and rub some on to sooth them. After I put the vaseline on my lips me being so stupid I rubbed the excess on my bed quilt thinking that it would just dry clear. Well an hour later I see these HUGE stains on my bed from the vaseline.
My mom will go crazy if she sees it and will probably think it's cum or something!
Help me, I need to get it out A..S.A.P. before my mom sees it.
P.S. It's been there since last night, help! =[

If it is cotton, WASH IT!!!!!!!

You can put shout/wisk/ whatever stain treater your mom has, or like others have said, dish soap works great too. Wash in warm water, Regular Detergant, Fabric softner (for that Downy-Fresh Clean-sheet day feeling). Don't forget....LARGE LOAD CAPACITY!

Pop it in the dryer under a regular cycle, and remove before it stops, so it's still nice & warm & fluffy.

If it isn't cotton.....there is this tag....usually on the foot of the comforter...with washing instructions....READ IT!!

I've always used low-loft polyester batting. Will cotton batting work with a standard sewing machine (not a long arm)? The quilt will be for twin size bed.

I am not a long term quilter, but on my first quilt I used Warm and Natural (cotton) with my cotton fabrics. It was easy as pie to get it to lay straight and even, and easy to quilt. It was a baby quilt but held together beautifully. I used a low loft poly one for the second one and had a terrible time getting it flat and straight. It turned out all right but I spent much more time pinning the poly than spraying with basting spray and getting the cotton layers even
