Cotton Bed Comforter

I have an inexpensive cotton bed comforter that I'd like to wash but I'm certain it will lose that crispness that it has. In the past I've used epsom salts and water in the rinse and not rinsed it out but I can't find the recipe anywhere online.

Anyone got an idea what I can use to retain that "new" feeling after laundering cotton?

The epsom salts sound like a good idea. Ironing it with spray sizing would also bring back that crispness that you desire.

HELP....I'm tired of buying new comforters for my bed. How can I get this stuff out?

First of all, sweetheart, fold the comforter down before you use the ky.
Secondly, one word: Dawn. Remember this religiously. Dawn doesn't just cut the grease in the sink, baby.
Rub some dawn onto the spot, get a hot wet towel and scrub that spot for a min or so, then either wipe that off with a clean wet towel or just wash it in a machine, and you'll be good to go.

Well Im bought a new bed and basically the old sheets i had on the bed dont fit so do i need a bed set or a comforter set im just curious as to what the differences are does one have more things then the other. and should i get poly cotton or 100% cotton

Different manufacturers describe their bedding sets in different ways so always check the contents of the set. You can always buy coordinated items from the same range (with the better quality bedding) to get exactly the items you need - sheets, pillow shams, bed valance, throw, comforter etc

I prefer poly cotton to cotton unless the cotton has an easy iron finish - that's after I bought a pure cotton bedding ensemble a few years ago - it was beautiful embroidered cotton - a pleasure to look at and the devil to iron.

I tried using the washer again and it keeps pushing all the polly or cotton on to one side, now i have to buy a new comforter

You may have to use an oversized washer like those in a laundrymat. I have to wash mine there. I also use the gentle cycle when washing. If you can't do this,you will have to resort to dry cleaning.

made of 50% cotton and 50% poly. it says dry clean only.

A few comforters I've had in the past have said that, after 1 or 2 washes, the Cotton inside gets kind of lumpy/bally
with my current comforter I do get it dry cleaned, mainly because it wasn't just some $20 dollar comforter to use between washes.
But I do suggest taking it to the dry cleaners. If you don't want to spend the money, you could shake it out outside then leave it hanging outside for 6 or 7 hours on a breezy day. It cleans it pretty well (I did this to mine yesterday)
