My fiance and I recently got some of the Miracle Cotton towels from BB&B for our wedding and we aren't quite sure of the quality. They were rather inexpensive compare to some others so I wanted to see if anyone had bought these and what they thought of them. They are incredibly soft, but I want them to stay that way, keep their color, and last a long time! Any thoughts?
I have some of the same towels and washcloths. I got them a few months back. After washing them, they stay just as soft as when I got them! Also, in the time that I have had them, I have not experienced any fading. I have a friend who also has some the same towels and she says hers do attract lint. However, that is not the case with me, and even if it was, I'd live with it because they are so soft and comfy!

I found a linen spray that I absolutely love. (Egyptian Cotton, from Bed Bath and Beyond) I want to use it when I do my laundry. Do you think it's safe to pour just a little bit in my washer once it fills with water?
why not put it on after.... that would sound better than in the wash...otherwise it could stain....

I just bought a bunch of white bath towels from bed bath and beyond, the royal velvet line. I have washed them several times, but the cotton keeps coming off the towel when I dry myself off. Is there something else I could be doing so my towels are literally shedding on me?
The first thing that came to mind was: are you washing them with anything else? Have you cleaned the lint trap and all that stuff? Sometimes towels can also be a lint grabber.
Even though they're made of a standard cotton, those towels shouldn't be shedding after several washings. I would return them.

I just bought a brand new Wamsetta cotton blanket from Bed, Bath & Beyond size Queen.
I was told I should wash this blanket like I would brandnew bed sheets. But I don't understand why I should wash a new cotton blanket, do I need to? I don't even bother washing new bed sheets when I buy them from stores...why is that necessary and should I wash my new cotton blanket at all????
No I'm not making a big deal trying to learn hwo I shoudl approach using new bed linens and whether they need to be washed or NOT.
Thanks.
Someone told me once that the manufacturers of clothing and bed linens use formaldehyde in their processing. Even if that is not true, what does the manufacturer use to get that crisp new feeling so it looks good in the package? And, is it something I want rubbing against my skin? Rather than take any chances, I wash new things. I'm going to watch your answers. Maybe someone can tell us about the manufacturing process.
I bought $75 100% cotton sateen sheets from Bed Bath & Beyond, and after one wash the sateen finish had disappeared even though it said the sheets were machine washable. The sheets are also excessivley wrinkly and I have long hair, so any hair that falls out while I'm sleeping clings to the sheets even after washing. I have really long, thick hair, so there's a lot of hair collecting on the sheets and I have to individually pick them out (gross!). My other polyster-cotton blend sheets don't have the same problem, but I've heard that 100 percent cotton sheets are better (they're certainly more expensive). So what's the deal? Why am I paying more for sheets that hold up worse? Is there a type of cotton I should be looking for? Or should I just stick with the cotton-polyster blend? I don't want to spend a fortune on sheets that will end up having the same problem.
Did you save your receipt for the sheets? I'd write the company a polite letter of complaint. Maybe they'll reimburse you or give a new different type of sheet.
Cotton-polyster blend holds up fine. Get 'em at Target, KMart or Wal-Mart. Wait 'til they have a White Sale.
What NOT to buy: flannel sheets (you get real sweaty and they make a lot of lint in the dryer); and silk or satin sheets, because you slide off them and they are expensive to clean.
Hope that helps!

How to Give a Proper Bed Bath in Critical Care: Making Sure ...
The action of giving a thorough bed bath in a critical care setting is of utmost importance to avoid skin breakdown and the growth of germs or bacteria on a patient’s skin. The majority of baths given on this type of unit are done by a CA (Clinical Assistant) and usually during the night shift. It is important to realize that the patients in this setting are uncomfortable and more often than not, they’re in pain. Because of this, one must try to make them feel comfortable prior, which sometimes calls for education on the importance of bathing in their healing process.
First off, the CA must prepare all bathing basics such as a bath bin, soap, towels and washcloths, as well as a clean change of sheets to include a fitted sheet, two cotton pads, pillow cases, a top sheet, and blanket. The water should be left running during this gathering and given time to warm to a reasonable bathing temperature. These materials should be placed in the room in a fashion that promotes easy access from the bed. The soap is mixed with water and washcloths in the bin then placed on the bedside table. Also, a linen bag must be within a good distance for easy disposal.
