I really want to use organic materials around our baby, but I'm a huge fan of bold colors. The two don't seem to mix. Has anyone found a place to buy a crib bedding set (sheets, bumpers, etc.) that have bold colors?
I used to shop bedding for my children from character comforts site. They have many good bedding and i think you can also find bedding of your choice from their site.

As the UK is expecting a warm summer this year I am not sure what sort of sheet I can put on top of the baby in a moses basket. I see a lot of flannelette sheets but I thought they would be a bit heavy to cover a baby. Also, would it be okay to put the baby to bed in a full light cotton sleep suit with feet? Or is that too warm?
Thank you from a slightly confused first time mum to be!
Rule of thumb is to put a newborn into one layer more of clothing than what you wear at night. I would swaddle my baby loosely in a blanket that the hospital used when I was there. I always put my baby in a sleep suit with feet. They don't move very much at night, so that will keep them comfortable.

the best way to get oil out of fabric is dishwashing detergent mixed with water. but this may bleach a bit, test it first. also degreeser will work like greased lighting, you can get it at walmart, target. won't bleach fabric, just spray it on spots rub let sit and wash. good luck, don't worry it will come out.

Hi
My baby is 3 weeks old, and ive been reading some info on reducing the risk of cot death, and it says about not letting your baby over-heat, but it doesnt have anything on how much bedding a baby should have, so i was wondering how much i should give her-she has been having 2 blankets, one of which is a cotton celular blanket which is doubled-over, and the other is a knitted one which my grandma made, also doubled-over-is this too much? the temp of the room is 18 degrees C.
Thanks!
i am in the UK!
My daughter is 3 and 1/2 weeks old and Im also in the uk I just swaddle her in one blanket.
I would advise you to ditch one of the blankets and just use the cotton cellular blanket. Place the baby in the moses basket with his or her feet touching the bottom and tuck the corners of the blanket under the mattress if you are not swaddling the baby to reduce the risk of suffocation.
We are expecting a child in December 2009 (we don't know gender yet) and have started a registry at Babies-R-Us, but cannot find many products: wool/alpaca blankets, cotton plush blankets, modern looking cotton nursery bedding, organic toys, foam mattress, light-weight crib in cherry color (there is one in maple color at Babies-R-Us though) ...
Does it mean that we should open a registry at another store instead? What other national store chain would be good for a variety of organic/quality baby products?
Do you have a buy buy baby near you? They have a bit higher end things, and many organic products.
