How long shoud Costco 300 threadcount bedsheets last?

I bought a sheet set from Costco. It was a 300 threadcount bedsheet. The most expensive sheets I've bought. Ever. They were 100% cotton, and they've never really seemed that luxurious.

They seemed to wrinkle on the bed really easily, and never had that snug fresh washed look.

Well today I looked at my sheets and they were so threadbare that they looked as thin as toilet paper.

I think that sheets should last longer. Like the sheets I had when I had as a kid. Of which I still have.

My duvet cover which I've had for ten years is still holding up strong.

Am I being unreasonable in thinking that sheets should last longer? The worst part is that I have a flat sheet and two pillow cases which are basically brand new from the same set.
They are less than 19 months old. For $60, for a queen sheet set, I should think that they should last a little longer. As I said before, my duvet cover has lasted much, much longer, and the fitted bed sheet that I had on the double bed before I got this queen, had many, many years on it too. I would have kept that sheet, but I got a queen sized bed.
Also the sheet has become so thin that they have completely worn through, and have torn. That really shouldn't happen.

This is somewhat off of your original question, but Costco has an incredibly gracious return policy. You could try to return them.
